How to Reach

The area of Ghulkin is accessible by road from Islamabad via Babusar Pass and alternatively via KKH which is an all-weather route. Its distance from Islamabad is around 640 km and one can reach here after a drive of about 15 hours. One can also reach Gilgit from Islamabad by air which takes 1 hour. From Gilgit it takes around three and half hours to reach Ghulkin travelling on scenic Karakorum Highway (KKH). Distance of Ghulkin is around 145 km from Gilgit and it is located 3 km off the KKH after the town of Ghulmit. The travel from Gilgit to Ghulkin is a scenic drive with number of photo stops where tourists can stop for a while and enjoy the scenic landscape on the way to Ghulkin. One can travel on his private car or can hire a rented transport which is easily available from Gilgit and Hunza. Public transport on KKH from Gilgit and Hunza is also frequently available during the tourist season.
